Ridiculously proud to have been awarded the Sid Fleischman Award for Humor from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, an international professional organization for writers and illustrators of children’s literature!
It’s a fact; I like facts
- Pigeons have been carrying messages for humans since 500 B.C.E.!
- Tents, dating back to 40,000 B.C.E., made from Wooly Mammoth hides were found in Russia! Cool, eh?
- It’s also a fact I like fiction, which is why The Teddy Mars Series blends facts and fiction.
School
- I taught kindergarten and third grade at Jackson Street School in Northampton, MA, where I also live!
- To get better at writing, I went to Hamline University for an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults.
